Solitaire Plus! includes a "Spider Variations" dialog which provides
additional choices for the very popular Spider solitaire. The dialog is
illustrated below: The Difficultly options include:
Easy - All the cards are Spades. The vast majority of games with this level should be winnable. Medium - Two suits, Spades and Hearts, are dealt to fill the tableau. This level offers more challenge, especially when choosing "Same Suit Moves Only" option, but a high percentage of the games can still be won. Challenging - All four suits are dealt for the most difficult variation. The challenging level requires great skill to win when the "Same Suit Moves Only" option is selected. The Number of Cards Dealt allows you to select either an initial deal of 44 or 54 cards. A 54 card deal is more difficult since more cards will be covered in the tableau. The Same Suit Moves Only option, when checked, only allows you to lift and move cards built down in the same suit as a group. If the option is not checked, then any cards built down by value can be moved as a group. For the Easy level, the option has no effect since all cards are of the same suit (all Spades). These options are similar to those provided in the Spider game
from Microsoft®. You can increase your enjoyment of Spider solitaire by
purchasing Solitaire Plus! instead of dealing with an expensive and complex
operating system upgrade to get access to the latest games. An example Easy game window of all Spades is illustrated at right. |
